Cancer raises all sorts of emotions and asking ladies to relive these emotions can be both therapeutic and tough. Even for those ladies who receive the 'all clear', these deep seated emotions can rise and bite when least expected.
Kate is is wonderful lady who puts so much energy into supporting others on their cancer journey. I hope she will tell you soon in her own words what this image means to her. As Kate was unable to come along on the shoot day, I stepped in and with the support of my good friend Karen Ingram we managed to get these portraits.
When Kate and I first met, said that her overwhelming feeling was of being "Out of Place" when she received her diagnosis. She was in a dirty, horrible place but she was too young. This portrait is her vision.
As always, this project would not have been possible with out help. Credits and many thanks to:
Tracy & Gilly at "The Sale Room" in Knowle, Solihull for the loan of the dress.
Tony Smith of "Greenville Homes Ltd" for the use of the house.
Karen Ingram for keeping me sane and being trigger presser extrodinaire.
